1844: Discovery of the micron
It wasn't a physicist or engineer who first measured the micron. It was Antoine LeCoultre in 1844.
Antoine created watch parts of such perfection that no tool could detect their degree of inaccuracy! In order to raise the bar even higher, he created the world’s most accurate measuring instrument. The Millionomètre served as a benchmark for over half a century.
